Last Resort Summer Carnival |

The summer carnival comes to Last Resort Saturday, with rides, games, concessions and events.
Rides, games and concessions open on the midway island Saturday afternoon, July 19, and a dance and funny prop contest will be held beginning at 8 pm EDT.
Everyone is welcome to escape the summer heat on the islands of Last Resort and join in summer fun at the carnival.

For anyone who knew or heard of Wizzard, the inventer of "community events" for the fun of it. Here is the letter Mary send to the Palace Pioneer list:
Tonight (Tuesday morning) at about 1:30 AM, my best friend and companion for the last five years or so, Kent Starr, also known to this community as Wizzard, was lifted up by heavenly angels and taken to a better place. He will struggle with sickness no more. He is at rest. Preparations will be underway tomorrow for cremation and a burial at sea so he can continue to sail on. There are so many oceans to sail. He was a fighter and a very strong man to the end. He was loved and will be remembered by so many all over the world. With love, Dr. Crusher

Memorial: Last Resort Mourns the Loss of WizofOz |

Last Resort has lost a family member and resident in WizofOz, a Palace pioneer and original known to many in the Palace community.
WizofOz, who in the offline world was Will Holroyd,58 of South Carolina, died Friday after being ill for months with a brain tumor. He so enjoyed Palace that he chatted at Last Resort with the assistance of his daughter and son-in-law until the day before his death.
He was a retired bank systems analyst and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
Last Resort will miss WizofOz, his sense of humor and wit, participation in our events and early morning coffee, his avatar at the gate. We do find comfort in his words that he knew we cared about him at Last Resort and it meant a great deal to him.
WizofOz is well-known to other Palaces he visited, including the Gardens Proppe Shop.
In honor of WizofOz, Last Resort has a gate link to his private island and memorial rooms for Palace friends to pay their respects. Wizard's Falls was his favorite spot and he often spent the night beside the falls with his avatar sleeping in a hammock. Also included are his Wiz of Oz room and a room of memories with images of WizofOz at various events.

It's New Year's Eve again and you're at what promises to be the biggest, grandest party of your life. Surrounding you are all the trappings of the holiday bash: colorful balloons, crepe streamers, confetti, festive party hats, plastic horns, and all the champagne you can drink. Music fills the air, adding to the festive atmosphere, and people chatter excitedly around you as they await the final countdown. Something is missing, however, and to your dismay -- and immense embarrassment -- you suddenly notice that you are alone amidst the throngs of people. It seems that your boyfriend, with whom you were going to greet the new year, has abandoned you and wandered off with some lumbering lout to argue football scores. Anxiously, you comb the room for a familiar face. Desperation grips you as you ponder the unsavory thought of entering the new year alone. So, with a determined vow, you fall back on your last resort -- getting picked up by a drunk.

If you are reading this article, you should be able to see the new Banner on the top of this website.
If not, please let us know, see if you are logged in at: www.palaceplanet.net. Its a small micro Palace, simple but fun. You can't do much except for changing your name, Chat and change to one of the 1 basic avs. So what is is for?
Its kind of an experiment, Palace people can help each other this way, somebody having trouble finding anytyhing, or just needs some simple help: A more experienced user can help them directly in the Palace Planet banner chat.
