ran into some problems trying to get it to compile, do you have a full list of the library dependencies for it? i've got some but i can't seem to work out where its going wrong and i figure i need some more of the libs for it. Let me know if you got a full list of dependencies
There is an alternative app in most linux distributions called virtual box.
Virtual box once installed has pre-setup version of wine .I downloaded the windows no-install version of palace from palace planet then copied it to virtual C:/program files/palace folder.Double click on palace.exe and it runs beautifully and faster than windows.If one can not compile for other versions linux like gentoo or opensuse try this approach.have fun guys and thanks.

P.S. virtual box will load a wine virtual C:drive short in your applications menu
ah i got it now, didn't have CURL, thanks russell, i just decided to hop on and do some stuff on here and got it working no sweat after i read this post haha. Linpal is not bad at all stripped of all the extra fancy features but who needs those ;P
