You forgot to mention that PalacePlanet has the new Java capable Instant Palace install files in the files section.

This resource is NOT available on eagles.chatserve. That only has the old version with microsoft Internet Explorer compatible java.

This new version improved by Heini will work with the new Java installs.

Are there any guides to using the new version of Instant Palace? I can't find anything and this is my first time with InstantPalace, so it'd be appreciated.

I already tried following those.

The only problem with those guides is that they seem to be aimed at palace servers hosted in personal computers. And well, there's another problem: the package I downloaded seems to be missing some of the files or directories mentioned in that guide. Actually, most files are missing. Or more like, it's almost entirely different from what's described there.

My palace is not hosted locally.

Edit: I had to move the files to the /www/ folder (root of the web part). Then I edited the file as you told me with the following:

I think I may have done something wrong, but I don't know the full path of the website. I'll have to find out. ... I will trigger an error or something to get it.

When I opened the address you mentioned, it redirected me to: http://pal.creationgroup.ch/palace99...al/ip_sun.html

Is that the expected behaviour, or do I have to edit something else? But now, looking at that URL, I have noticed that the person stored the instantpal directory inside their palace's media folder?

... Anyway, it's basically sending me to someone else's InstantPalace and palace server. :o

So you must have this exactly line in this file: ip_sun.html

It works... almost!

I had to edit ip_select.html as well.

The applet loads, I connect to palaces... With an exception: media files are not loading. So I can't see any graphics. Not even the avatars. But I know what it is: the path to the media folders is wrong.

Edit: Nope. Not working. And I'm sure the path is right: /home/arwym/palace/media/
