What are we suppose to do on this server exactly? What keeps us from getting bored? Got any card games or whatnot?

We have games that you can play and since there will be people there you can chat.

As for if you stay 48 hours and have complied with all the rules then you would be one of the winners as the post stated.

Most of the people I've met on palace aren't interested in hardcore computer subjects... so what all games do you have? Hopefully something more entertaining than Yahtzee!

I have a friend coming who will be some entertainment. But he will probley be banned. And you need to bring more than half a brain if Janus is going to be there.

Haha I checked out their server... they only card game they have is single player Black Jack... Would the server mind implementing Triple Triad and Quad Mist games if I donated a link to them? They're both from Final Fantasy games, two player, strategy based! They help you think Very Happy!

Nevermind, I got killxed... Server owner didn't like me recommending a better plugin than valcheck. Plus they dissed one or more of my plugins, tried to defend it, now I'm IP Banned. I wouldn't recommend that server to friends Evil or Very Mad

Yeah... it was strange. I logged on the server and she demanded why I was doing bad things. I thought it was strange, and asked what bad things?

She posted a page msg from valcheck saying sRom attempt or some such... that's the packet that's transmitted when a user updates the room. It'd be kind of impossible for me to do that without paltech or something (which is kind of hard to get running under Wine on linux, since VB libraries don't really work)

I told her she should maybe get Sentinel, its got valcheck built in, and even pointed her to the page ( http://palacecommunity.com/sentinel ) and a user said "no that sucks." I started arguing why, and people came back with false claims and myths about the plugin, and an argument erupted.

I told the server owner (candy) she can use the plugin, or not, but it wasn't my fault that valcheck complained about the message and she told me not to tell her how to run her server. I told her I didn't, "I was making a friendly suggestion from as a plugin devel team member to a palace owner about a course of action" and she said something back, I don't remember.

There was this third user called "sex yes" or something that said KILL HIM and then started whispering things with the server owner about me (I could tell because the owner was like "yeah i know he is")

Janus soon came in (I told him about it) and he started argueing about sentinel and talking about the sRom packet message and why it could have been caused, and soonafter we were kicked.

I don't know why she acted like that, and made a big fuss about it. I regret to say I won't be making the event neither.

P.S. As for the misconceptions about why they were bashing the Sentinel plugin, they had the horrible misconception and were saying "Dont put sentinel on this server itt sux ass px can't run on it" -- Actually, Phalanx can run quite well if the plugin is configured properly. The command to configure it is `sentinel verstr

P.P.S. To candy: sorry if I offended you where you had to feel like you needed to ban me.

(maarten, if you think this is too much info or something... just delete the post up to the last paragraph (or PM me and ask me to edit it). I just thought I'd post my tribulation and how I was involved; the intention isn't to flame the board or anything.)

Yeah, kind of obvious how BHLabs goes out of there way to 'neglect' certain details about my plugins before/while/after bashing my plugins to their userbase who just take every last word they say for gospal. Damn I love the mentality of Visual Basic users!

To clear this up yes a comment was made about not liking sentinel because in my PERSONAL OPINION no I do not like it. The comment was made to jon_k not to Janus. That was after he had been slightly rude, perhaps by a misunderstanding, about our server running valcheck. When the comment was made about sentinel he got defensive and Janus came in to "defend him." Janus then began to diss all palace owners that use Windows in a rather rude manner saying they all need help. It did end in both jon_k and Janus being kicked since they were both asked to leave if they could not be nice a few times before they were kicked and they refused and continued to make rude comments.

Countess: Well it seems personal reasons for not liking Sentinel were due to PX not running on Sentinel. My best suggestion would be to ask if Palace owners could enable that feature in sentinel. As stated above, `sentinel verstr can enable it. If server owners enable it and Phalanx works fully, and you still think the plugin is no good, then you're fine to think so. You can think so now too if you want (but it's like thinking a car sucks cause it's got a Km/Hr odometer when you could easily get it replaced to show MpH!)

Read up on http://palacecommunity.com/sentinel to see an easy list on how to use Sentinel (Trust me, it's easy!) To find work arounds for problems like this in Sentinel, check out the FAQ at http://palacecommunity.com/sentinel-faq.php It's really more configurable than valcheck, and supports PX too!

We didn't mean to be rude; although we probably came off that way. We seem to sometimes. I also think he was referring to Windows servers, I can't remember anymore.

Candy isn't the server owner nor am I. I am not a user I am a wiz. You were only asked about the sRom because that has never happened before so she wondered if you were trying to do something. As you must know it is not uncommon to have a user come in and threaten to "hack" the palace or something of that nature. I am not saying we thought you were but it is always better to ask then not. She was not talking to sex yes about you or anyone else. No one said it "sux ass" the comment was made that it tended to block members on PX. That information did not come from BHLabs it is something a owner of another palace had said. It may let PX on if it is configured right I do not know that is why like I said before I was not "attacking" anyone I had made a comment of personal opinion. You would not have been kicked if you had of left when you were asked to or if you had of stopped the rude comments. It seems we all came off a little rude unintentionally. The ban is no longer in effect so if you would like to come back to resolve this in a less public manner please do. Either way you are both welcome anytime.

Well, Valcheck has been known to have problems like that. I don't know why. I had it running once upon a time before sentinel on my palace (olympus-mt.com) and I'd get messages like that. I guess it's my personal opinion but yeah, valcheck is kind of old and dated and it does have problems like that.

It happens, don't worry about it. Wink[/quote]

Maybe I'll stop by;
it was a stupid arguement...;
I might come by sometime, hopefully the sRom message won't pop up again and cause a similar reoccurance in conversation.
