On my Windows Palace server the "Packet fragment #" always come up without me doing any modifications to my palace. What is a packet fragment? Does someone try to hack me through packet fragments? Can they?

Actually all internet traffic is done by sending small packets, if you send a picture to someone Windows splits it up in packets and sends them one by one.

After each packet your connection checks if the packet was received OK and then sends the next one. Because connections are not perfect some packets get lost or are incomplete. This is what your seeing, probably just a bad connection.

Because you are using a Windows server it might be possible for people to abuse the Palace Presents feature, but if you don't have that plugin (check your plugin menu in the Palace client) not much can go wrong.

Of course your Palace is a lot safer when using Linux on a professional server but as long as you keep a good backup and there is no trouble I don't think its worth the money.

In theory your Palace is as safe from hacking as your computer. So if you have a good firewall (Zone Alarm for instance) your Palace should be safe. Just remember to make a backup just in case.
