Post subject: Whats the Buzz about Hive7?

Up until now, nothing compared to Palace. It felt like home to me but after 8 years i've found myself getting bored so I've been looking around at other graphic chats for awhile(gasp!) and Myst told me about Hive7.
Its only been in existance a few months and is still in beta stage. Its browser based thus no download to your computer so you can visit from anywhere! Really handy for us chatters.
Upon first arrival, there was already a selection of avs in the "ME" bag to wear. Not alot of them appealed to me but i'm currently in the faerie folk mode at this time.
Registration is completly free, but you can travel about as a Guest unless a room owner has marked their room as Trusted/Registered visitors only.
And that's one of the perks....personal room customization. You can insert a room picture off the web, dress it with movable furniture found in hive or off the web, use animated gifs in it, and then the sky's the limit.
I'm not a techy, but Hive has these cool scripted props that enable you to insert games, video's, mp3's, live radio feed and shared browsers and other items right into your rooms which can then be used by everyone in the room.
You also have access to Administration of your own rooms with a simple right click of a button. Set it for just friends to visit or create something for everyone to enjoy. It's up to you.
One visitor has set up and scripted a very elaborate RPG game room which he's allowed other's to copy for their own use. I'm still trying to beat my own 10,000 score in the Squares Game room. I should stick to room decorating...
It would be easy to set in a link from Palace for large gatherings or special events. Ladies you won't believe the room size! No more miniature av's will be necessary.
Want your own Private Palace to sneak off to sometimes but haven't got the server capabilities? I've got a firewall that killed mine. Build a home in Hive7 and invite your special someone over.
I'm finally having fun on a chat again goofing with animations and avs. Well, ok, i'm a graphics nut but this is a feast about to happen.
The full version which is supposed to be released in a few months will have even more scripted items and scripted avatars. You really have to experience it yourself.

Well thanks for answering your own question 
Hive is pretty clever and people should pop in and check it out. Its definately still a beta product, has weird loading times and sometimes it gets real slow. The other weird thing is the size, you need to adjust to this as Palace user, everything is BIG.
Who knows what you can do with some cool graphics and clever scripting in there. |
