Hi everybody,

I would like to show how many users are chatting in a room/s somewhere in my website.

Is there anyway to make this posible, different than using Palace server monitor? Javascript? Flash?

Any sugestion with be helpfull. Thanks.

Lucky for you, there are a few options. The PalacePlanet Downloads section has an area for add-ons. I think the first two listings should do what you like. The add-ons dump information in xml, rss xml, rss atom, html, and ini formats.

This means that Flash is a possibility, but you're going to have to set up the actionscript so that it reads the xml feeds from it. Its hard, but not impossible.

No problem! Glad I could help. I did a little more homework and discovered making an RSS reader in flash for your website isn't that hard afterall. If you're knowledgeable in Flash, you'll be able to do this...or get someone to do it for you. Macromedia released a development kit to create a Flash-based RSS Aggregator. Once you utilized the add-on, and find the URL into your feed you'll need to create one of these RSS Aggregators.

The nice thing is that with Flash, you'll be able to customize the whole interface and experience. Instead of headlines just being static, you could add a subtle animated background or even a funky rollover sound. Good luck!
