Phalanx/Vista - Problem with props
My friend, who is also a regular on The Campus, is running Phalanx client on Windows Vista. She is not very tech savvy but Doug and I both tried to help her. The problem seemed like a corrupted bag. We had her replace these with fresh ones but the problem persisted. As she'd be loosing her props/avs anyway I suggested she uninstall and reinstall phalanx. She did this, also deleting the Brainhouse Labs directory as I told her to ensure she removed the corrupted files, but when she reinstalled I was surprised when she popped on to the Campus in her default av. She was still also experiencing the problem of not seeing most of her props. Even the ones that come with phalanx (she could only see the leg parts). She has tried this procedure several times. I am figuring this to be a Vista thing. However, not being overly familiar with Vista I have no idea how to fix her problem.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a file write permission problem, she should probably check out the big news item posted on the frontpage called:
Vista problems and avatar: problem solved

To be honest I have never solved a Palace problem with re-installing anything unless the client told me the prop file was corrupted.

Please don't ask me for help in private, use the USER QUESTIONS forum if you need help.

Ive been using Phalanx onVista Basic for 2 years now and have never had any problems running it or any problems with props at all.I think that one thing that is recommended that I do with most older software is that when you do install the software you right click on the exe file and go to properties and there is a compatibility window where if you tell it to run as tho it was running xp-sp2 ive found that programs run wayyyyy better.try it.
