I really suggest checking out the work that BHLabs is doing with Phalanx and the work Pawn's doing with Palacechat. They're sharing ideas and whatnot and so far they've come up with a pretty decent client. Pawn's Palacechat does have more features than Phalanx, but I don't have a Mac so I can't try it out. However here's just a short list of some features that I know are working. Currently there's 4 different "types" of avatars. You can save prop pieces as 8-bit, 16-bit, 20-bit or 32-bit. Of course the 20 and 32 bit avatars can only be seen by other Phalanx/Palacechat users. There's no need to ever use the palace palette on your avs again, because the client automatically dithers the av for you. Also, with the new features, you can do most of your editing in PSP or Photoshop and have the client automatically remove the colored background. There's a cool sliding feature that you can try by holding down the right mouse button and moving (careful because some people think this is a script and have banned people for it). But it's still really cool. The current version even supports painting!! Anyone looking for a "new" client, I would point to Phalanx/Palacechat. The guys are working really hard. Features that are supported by the Palace servers but not available to the Palace client are being used. Just an all around good client, in my humble opinion.
