I had my own palace server on my computer and I had it just like I wanted it too. I got a new computer for christmas and I have been trying to make it work on here. My dad copied my files and settings over and it shows palace here but when I try to connect to my server palace it comes up with the rooms and all but when I try to open it it flips down and will not open anytime. I can get on regular palace and go all over but my server palace will not open. Can ya help please?

Hi Tina, Did you download a new palace server to the new puter, or, did your dad just add the copied files to the new puter? What message do you get when your server flips down? All that was needed to be done, is as follows:- 1, Download Palace Server, delete the new servers, psdata and media files. 2, add your old psdata and media files to the new server where you deleted the new ones from, then start your server, this should be all that you needed to do.

Umm I think he copied all the old stuff to the new one. I didn't download a new server though. Anyhow it don't give a message when it flips down. You know how you go in and open bin folder and click on that Palace thing that looks like a palace??? When I do it don't open but flips down to the tray like by the clock and will stay there. If I click on that it disapears and no more palace. Thanx so much for helping me.

Hi,

Did you get it running yet? If the Palace tries to open but then just flips into the little bar next to your clock it means it can't start properly because some files aren't installed.

Unlike the Palace client, the server can't just be copied it needs to install some stuff in the registry. Like Pooch suggested: you should reinstall.

Always make a backup copy!

A simple trick is to just rename your pserver.pat file to "mypalace.pat", install the Palace Server
, then in the server preferences select your mypalace.pat as your server script.
