HELP HELP - Palace Server running on Windows 2000 server

I have a palace server 4.4 build 19 running on my windows 2000 server. I have been reading all kinds of manuals - ebooks, but i have still done something wrong. I do have it up and running, it will work with the palace client software. and i do have it working on my website. To look at the instant palace on my sight http://stevenarnold.dyndns.org:8000 Click "Palace Chat Room"

Here are the problems i am having...

1) in instant palace i can not see the avators
2) i can not get the palace authoring tool to work
3) my server contiues to say that it is trying to register with some directory service. and connection is refused.

These are the main things that i need fixed.

I am not really worried about this next one but any info would be appreciated.

4) Another option i am trying to set up is being able to edit this palace from my website at another location.

To get the avatars to work. In Instant Palace from the Server side

From the server screen. click---> Options--->Preferences

When the setup screen opens click the tab ---->The Palace viewer

Then Check "use custom Avatars for the palace viewer"

And enter the directory where they are located
mine was....

The Authoring tool has dissapeared 4 years ago along with the company and servers that hosted it. Your not missing a thing, it sucked :)

As for the directory, check out the info on Palacetools:

Now the only problem that i am having now is that the server will still not register.

here is what i have done....

1) edit host files
2) put in the server ip addy directory.palacetools.com
3) put my code in the sysop field in the pserver file for palace tools.

What should i try next?

Did you reboot your system?

If you did all that there is not a lot more you can do, can people enter your Palace now? Did you check the Palace directory to see if your Palace info makes it to the directory? Room cont, user count etc.

It is normal if you get the occasional message from the server saying it can't connect to the directory. The server will try to connect every 15 minutes.

The Server is up and running. People can connect to me and everything is working fine i just cant connect to the directory. It used to say connection refused now all its is "Regestering with directory."

If all it said is "registering with directory" then its working. You should check the directory and see if your info gets updated, you can add a room or something. Sounds to me like its all working now.
