Help with PServer on Dsl

I got a new computer; and new dsl.
I set up a Pserver; but nobody can get in. Can you please tell me how to fix that so users can come into this palace?

thank you for the info; people can access it; however; they can't see the background pics. I put in the IP/palace/media but that didn't help....does it need a longer path, such as communities.com/palaceserver/palace/media? And the port of 9990 is what is supposed to be there? I'm only copying what was written in that sticky note; most of this doesn't make sense to me.

Yes if your Palace server is installed in
program files/communities.com/palaceserver/

Then your media should be in
program files/communities.com/palaceserver/palace/media

This is the default directory for Palace server media. Port 9990 is the port the Palace uses to send media so thats correct.

The IP:9990/palace/media is something you only have to look into if people still can't download your media after you put it in the right folder.

I'm afraid there isn't a simpler way to explain it, what I can try and explain is what it means: Your Palace server is trying to send people the media but its doing so on your computers internal network.

So by changing the setting to your EXTERNAL IP you tell the Palace server that people should get your pictures on your outside connection not your local network.

Just re-read Uni's Sticky again to find out how to change the media IP if you need to, after a while it will start making sense and you will become a Palace nerd :P :P :D :P Ok joke but seriously I know its a bit confusing all this tech stuff all of a sudden but you got it working so far so you probly get the rest as well.

This is getting worse; now my guests can't see the rooms; and I can't see new rooms I'm creating either. I had 20 rooms downloaded that I could see; my guests could only see the gate. Now I added more rooms and they won't even download for me; now I too just see a black screen. No matter which background I choose to put in; I can't see it myself.

I too had this same problem when I tried using the Pserver program with my dsl, so it's not just you. What I did to fix this was find a media host which allowed remote linking(aka hotlinking) and changing the media server url to the website which all of your backgrounds and sounds are uploaded to.

Are you sure when you changed anything around you didn;t change your pic directory ?
