A Palace Site is a unique online community where users can come together and chat while being represented by a graphical image. There are over a thousand Palace Sites in "Palace Space". Users can connect to The Palace Sites with The Palace User Software, and if the Palace owner set it up you can use Instant palace.

The Palace User Software enables you to connect to all the different Palace Sites located in Palace Space. This software makes it possible for you to chat with a wide variety of people from all over the world in a fun online community.

Instant Palace allows people to visit Palace Sites through their web browsers.
With Instant Palace, anyone can add a Palace community to a web site.

The Instant Palace User group

The Palace Server enables you to create your own unique online community, or Palace Site. All you need to author and administrate your site is the Palace Client. The Palace Server 4.4 supports Win95, Windows NT, Macintosh and Unix.

There are many options in front of a Palace User. If you are interested in exploring Palace Space and being able to change your appearance, we suggest you use Instant Palace. Instant Palace users can only choose from default avatars that depend on the creativity of the server owner. A final option for the user is to create a Palace Site of their own. This is accomplished with The Palace Server.

Palace Chat is a online community of graphical chat sites with interactive content. The
Palace user software is your gateway to a large variety of Palace destinations you can
explore.You can visit a diverse range of communities, many are personal sites where you
simply can go to chat and socialize with friends and family. Some are designed with a
specific theme in mind such as entertainment and gaming centers or gathering points for
special interest groups.

The Palace User Software comes in two flavors: Instant
Palace: Java enabled browser based, good for Your first peek at The Palace. The
Palace Client: Powerfull with many hidden features, allows you to create your own
Avatars/Dolzz and Scripts. In combination with the Palace Server, you can create and
customize your own personal Palace site to host other people.

The birthday of Palace has always been celebrated on November 15th, commemorating Nov. 15th 1995, when Palace left beta, and version 1.0 was released.

According to the original Mac release notes, the date 1.0 was released was Nov. 14th 1995, but Marc Jeffrey, co-founder along with jbum, always maintained that it was actually the 15th that the release actually took place.

Also according to the original Mac release notes, Alpha version 1.0.1 was released 7/29/95, and beta 1.0 was released 7/31/95.
