Question

Answer

How do I make my own Avatars?

There are several very good tutorials on AV making in the links section:
Avatar Paint Shop Pro tutorial.

Are avatars on Palace copyrighted?

Some are but they have been swaped, exchanged so many times it is almost impossible to find the original creator. If you know who made an AV and you like to use it for something else, just ask if you can. With all the Av's around, its probably the best thing you can do.

Palace stopped responding while it was compressing the prop file now several of my props are blank.

I'm afraid this is a prtty serious problem, there are a few things you can try: Scandisk your harddrive and defrag it, after that you can also try Barbara's prop recovery room: dcriptbarn.palacetools.net:9998. Good luck!

Is there anyway I can select all of the dollie I've made to paste on my webpage?

The only way you can copy your dolly to paste onto your webpage is to screen capture your av against a plain background. Just press the PrtSc button on your keyboard, then paste into a graphics editor like Paint Shop Pro.

When I save my avatars everything seems ok, but when I come back, all my saved avatars are gone.

There are a few possibilities here:

1: does your palace client close normal, if it crashes on closing it will drop every prop you picked up in that session.

2: Do a search for your Palace.prp file and see if its write only, if so uncheck that and make it writable.

If this didn't solve anything the best thing you can do is join the Palace-Client mailinglist. You can find all mailinglists in the Palace Planet links section:

where is the Palace hidden file where all the Props/Dolls get stored?

The Palace.prp file is in the Palace directory, you can find this file by simply doing a search on: Palace.prp. It is not hidden and it is very important you make a BACKUP of this file.

Especially if you have a large Prop collection because the Palace.prp files are known to become corrupt over time and you can loose everything. So copy it some place safe.

It is not possible to open this file and see or add props to this by the way.

My "smiles" are invisible when I open prop window my computer froze

Sounds like You have a corrupt propbag, what you need to do is replace it: Got to the downloads section here on Palace Planet and get a fresh prop bag for your operating system: If you are on windows go to the windows download, if your on a mac to the mac downloads. Look for the DEFAULT PROPBAG, download unzip/stuff it and put it in your Palace folder. You can find the Palace folder easily by doing a search on palace.prp (your old prop bag) or palace.

I saved an avatar, but I am unable to "wear" it, the message says "server only allows approved avatars"...how do I get approved?

Yes this is normal. It means there is nothing wrong with your avatar but the server owner has chosen to block unapproved custom avatars. Usually this happens on childrens Palaces rto prevent any people showing 18+ avatars. All you need to do is find a wizard on the Palace and ask to approve your avatars. Wizards usually wear a * in front of theyr name. Good luck.
