Last Resort Running with the Lava Celebration |

The first annual Last Resort Running with the Lava Anniversary Celebration will be held Sept. 6-9 with elephant rides and slides, beach and formal parties, cabanababe and other contests and featuring the Running with the Lava.
Running with the Lava is similar to the Running of the Bulls in Spain but instead of bulls, participants run with the lava flowing from Last Resort's active volcano. Survivors will receive animated Palm Fan Awards.
By entering the event, the runners are agreeing to be of a somewhat sound mind and that Last Resort is not responsible for any resulting catastrophic injuries or permanently charred body parts.
Daily open house activities will include elephant rides through scenic island spots, an elephant water slide mini-safari, an original art tour, volcano tour, games tournaments, open house at King's Casino and our 9-11 Memorial Tour.
The scheduled events begin Friday Sept. 6 with a hut decorating contest at 7 pm followed by a "how many can we fit in one hot tub party" and a water balloon throwing beach party, beginning at 9 pm. The cabanababe prop contest begins at 10 pm and a winning male and female cabanababe will be selected.
On Saturday Sept. 7 Geektionary begins at 6 pm, Paddy Awards and Mango Awards presentations at 8 pm and a formal dress Lava Ball at 9 pm. A king and queen of the ball prop contest begins at 10 pm.
Sunday will include all day and night beach parties, Last Resort favorite memories at 5 pm, Stompy Awards at 8 pm and at 9 pm the Running with the Lava begins. An all-night bonfire and fireworks with a countdown to the Last Resort New Year will begin at 11:59 pm. Late night trivia begins at 12:30 pm.
On Monday, Running with the Lava will continue all day and night. At 8 pm the Tiki Torch Awards will be presented. The Tiki Torches are the people who light up Last Resort as voted on by Last Resort chatters. A best dressed prop contest will follow and a pool party begins at 10 pm.
