What should we include?
This is a discussion about the global Palace event content. If you think we should include certain elements please post your suggestions in this thread.

A Theme is something very important to have for an event, especially when it will involve so many different locations. It creates the common link that ties all of these palaces together. So theme ideas are definitely needed. Theme ideas will help decide what sort of fun games could be included in this adventure.
No idea is too far-fetched so lets get this kick started!
Spinging, leaping, bouncing forward. Do want this to be as interactive as possible? Let's hear it people! Post Post Post

Pooch posted some good ideas for a theme: a game element with a prop hunt type of theme, that would keep people busy and intrested.

Perhaps once we find a name it will be a bit easier to come up with the theme, but yes, Nerdo, I think you're right that Pooch had some good ideas.

How about a palace quest?
"Find the Lost Palace!"
A cryptic adventure that leads us to the ultimate origin of The Palace! Kind of like "The Da Vinci Code" but a lot less stupid! Thoughts?

How about a maze type game, where you have to find your way to the right room to obtain the key to go to the next palace. I know this can use up a good amount of server space, but it is a fun and interesting game. We could also put in little extras that they have to find to proceed through the maze.
thoughts on this please :-).

Nice one Pooch!
I love mazes, got a pretty decent 48 room one setup on Digital Exposure (palace://digital-x.net/10710) (palace link to the maze)
try it if you dare :)
but i think two things:
a cross Palace maze would be a mazing but takes a lot of planning. You need at least 20 Palaces to make it intresting and have to double or triple the clues.
Actually... with just simple door pics you can drop in any room to mark the maze it would be pretty easy to setup. So instead of a "tour" you walk through a maze made up of all the Palaces involved.
A cross Palace event, for me anyway, is a way for people to show off their Palace right? So you need to make something that shows off the Palace the way it is in "normal" mode so to speak.
The only problem with a maze is: you can't plan it in public lol:tongue:

Yes, I agree with what you are saying there Maart, but ..... You are not getting what I mean. The palace that hosts the maze, shows off all their handiwork, and the maze would be the last room, they have to crack the maze to move on to the next palace.

O0o0oo0oo0oH yeah that idea was way to intellurgent for me man...
But a one room maze, wouldn't that just be a puzzle?
To be honest now i kinda like the idea of sending people across Palaces with no real order through maze doors lol. Click an door and you can edn up ANYWHERE... well ok maybe that is a bit to complex.
How about the maze gives you a prop key that unlocks something at the end?
not to turn this into a selfpromoting load of rubbish for my Place, but I should check if the old bug hunt and maze are still alive at digital to give you some idea of what is easy to setup.

Ok sorry to drop another idea in how about this:
A Maze, In search of the Lost Palace
or raiders of the lost avatars, The temple of doom or something.
Then the guys get to wear a indiana Jones outfit and the girls a Laura Croft one. You can only carry one weapon or prop key each time and need to change it before you can finish problem X.
To get the right key / weapon you need to go through the maze and look for it.

Do any of you out there remember the Survivor Tour (based on the TV show)?
As this tour linked only to the first of the tour rooms of each participating palace there was no problem with Adult content ... the kids were so busy trying to solve the quiz (or maze, if you wish) and move onto the next palace that they had no interest in wandering around!
1. A Base Palace with links to all the participating Palaces butttttttttt you could only start at the beginning!
2. Each Palace had 4 rooms each with a question/answer script with the correct answer transporting you to the next room.
3. In last room you were also asked to search for a hidden prop (44 x 44) to save, then you were linked back to the Base Palace and the next participating palace on the tour.
4. Here came the clincher ... you could not be transported to that next palace unless you were wearing the prop you received in the previous palace (hehehehe).
OK it's a simple idea but it really worked. Each participating palace provided the Base Palace with a picture for their link room. So they had to come up with 5 room pictures in total. Each palace themed their tour around their own palace's theme (grin ... Intent you could make another Boris tour with your questions being about Boris and his wife?)
You could organise it in say groups of 8 palaces as mentioned in a previous thread. With party time in between and display of your hard earned props. Maybe there could be a grand final party with a prize for anybody that had the time and perseverence to collect every prop?
OK thats my simple idea? Sorry I'm so late joining this thread!
Hugs for all,
Jane
