After all this hype from the book and seeing Tom Hanks with Jay Leno, Conan and even Ron Howard doing his best to sell the movie I expected at least a sort of intresting movie.

But, as is usually the case, hollywood didn't have the imagination to make this anything but another hyped hot air balloon. I'm sure it flies as long as you keep heating it but there really is nothing in there to make it intresting.

Some stupid theories, a ridicoulous sadistic clue from an old guy that cuts himself open just to make some point. "Hey i'm shot.. you know what this is going to take too long before I die, lets not get any help. Lets mutelate myself a bit so we can have some cool photos with a lot of blood"

The guy could have used a cellphone but naah he used his own blood. Thats how stupid this movie is, typical any excuse to pretend we got a cliffhanger rubbish with no content or logic.

I never read the book and I'm glad I never wasted any time on such a load of rubbish. Not sure why the church even wants to get into an argument about this. There is no real point other then a few sound bites claiming "Its all a big lie" nobody ever explains what this lie would be or what was so bad about it.

And the worst part is: It has NOTHING to do with Leonardo Da Vinci.

Of course your going to see it and i hope you enjoy it more then i did,

I give it a 3 out of 10

Damn....I do want to see this. But yah this movie has got a lot of hype. And this seems to be the general consensus from critics. So I at least will wait until it comes out on dvd. I also love Tom Hanks. But thanks for the review!!errr

Basically people who read the book are the people who really want to see it.

And those who did read it need to remember that even the author admits it is "fiction". In the beginning of the book, he pretends to state FACTS which begins all the fiction to begin with.

I won't bother seeing the movie. Like you both said, all hype anyhow. I bet "Over the Hedge" beat this movie in the box office on Friday. :)

So the movie never had anything about the painting he did? I think in the book, that's where most of the "code" is suppose to lie in. Secret messages, etc.

Hmmph. And they could have a sequel. Afterall, another author wrote "Breaking the Da Vinci Code". Taking each chapter of the book and ripping it apart.

Actually there is something about da vinci and a painting i'm told. but its such a load of rubbish...

The big secret in the movie is not even a secret or a revelation. Won't get into it in case anyone wants to see the movie and be "surprised". Its just another piece of lego where you see every block stacked on top of the other one and think: but its just lego.

Over the Hedge is going to be a lot more fun to see as well. the only thing that makes me wonder about this movie is why on earth does any organisation think they need to defend themselves against this pseudo intellectuall rubbish. Do they really think people are that stupid?

Anyway, my advice is go see Mission Impossible III

You could make a very funny spoof on the da Vinci Code, i mean what thriller had the line "quick we need a library" in it....

You're right. I can see a spoof movie about it. I'm thinking in the next "Scary Movie" sequel. Can have fun with it.

I like "mi3". Was a good movie. Seeing "Over the Hedge" tomorrow.

Well it was just a load of pretentious rubbish, I guess having someone like tom Hanks in the movie and Ron howard as director raised my expectations to much. And I just don't understand why people want to pretend this could cause problems for anyone who believes, its too obvious. Then again I think the church is abusing this hype for selfpromotion as well.

These days its all about how things look and are spinned in the media its a bit sick. Its all image no content.

It was just a fictional movie and did state so.
I don't see why this would cause real problems
either.
